Called to Serve...

Jesus says in Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Jesus came to serve the people He loved so much. In response to His love for us, we seek also to serve those around us. This is where we serve with our own hands.

We are blessed and excited to be part of a wonderful local community where we can serve God. Some of the ways we are able to do that is through organizations like Youth for Christ and now 37 Frank Youth center, or with food drives, the Community Garden, Women's Rural Resource Center to name only a few. We are always looking for ways to be the hands that show God's love.

Our church has been on many service trips, sharing the love of Jesus with all we came in contact with. A group of people commit to go and do the work and evangelism and the congregation supports them with prayer and finances, each using the gifts and abilities that God has given them. Our congregation has supported and sent out our youth who have had the opportunity to go on many work trips with SERVE, an arm of our denomination, to places like Juarez, Mexico, Washington, DC, and many places in Canada. Some of our adults have had the opportunity to go on different work/mission trips to Costa Rica, Haiti, Belize, Kentucky.

Those who go or serve locally always come back saying they were blessed in going and doing. It is good to serve God.
